The prototypes will address the glitches seen in the Windows 7 touchscreen.

In order to resolve the problems, the Redmond-based giant has brought about a series of prototype mice, which are aimed at addressing the multi-touch gestures.

The five mice are called the Frustrated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR), Orb, Capacitive (Cap), Articulated (Arty) and Side. FTIR mouse is based on the belief of frustrated total internal reflection, and boasts of a camera, which will monitor a user’s touch.

Next is the Orb, a semi-circular structure, which boasts an IR-sensitive camera. Its unique design keep user’s palm in a comfortable position. The lithe matrix of capacitive-sensing electrodes of the Cap mouse keeps tabs on the position of multiple fingers on its surface. It is very compact and energy-efficient.

While, the Side mouse can be optimized palm rest. It forms a multi-touch area straight in front of it. This area isn’t confined to the physical surface of the device. Plus, the Aryt is claimed to enhance and glorify the Side mouse. It touts to extend a base for letting hand’s palm rest, whereas the two arms are easily movable around the table by the fingers.

Up to now, the company has not made any official announcement of these mice, it will take time. But, these mice are surely and soundly going make a way and revolutionize the computing world.
