Known as the GYY, the refreshing netbook is powered by solar energy. Weighed just 700grams, the notebook embeds a 400MHz processor at its heart. It is not just energy efficient but lightweight as well.

Compatible with a proprietary version of Linux operating system, the solar-powered net-book comes incorporated with 128MB of RAM, a 64GB solid-state drive and an 8-inch display that gives support to WVGA and around 800 x 480 pixels of resolution.

The iUnika GYY netbook is expected to hit the European markets by June 2009 with the expected price of 160 euros (approx. Rs. 10,715).

If I am not wrong, the iUnika GYY is the world’s 1st solar-powered netbook!
